In Worm Gear system, due to internal gear transmission, partial energy will be transformed to heat energy and fade away. 

 

Efficiency = Output Shaft HP / Input Shaft HP x 100%

 

 

The efficiency of the worm gearbox (speed reducer) depends on worm's advancing angle, preiodical speed, lubrication oil, bearing friction and materials friction factor.
